The Envelope Please

Andrew Bush photographs envelopes. His collection numbers over 200 and it's easy to become transfixed on them all. They vary dramatically in size, shape, and color. Some have square flaps, some round, some are pointed and then there is the occasional departure with a specialty shaped die-cut flap signaling a whole new degree of formality to the recipient. They all have a story and intentional or not, they have one common utility: they are each designed to contain something. Perhaps they contain just a note of intrigue; as isn't it human nature just to wonder what could possibly be inside? This batch of printed envelopes are no exception.

Andrew Bush also photographs other things such as drivers on LA Freeways, business cards and people with their flea market finds. They are all wonderful.

  1. Wow, those are so nice. Inspiring, as usual. Makes me want to print up some envelopes and send a little mail.
