|From my Type 101 course at School of Visual Concepts this Summer, student Mike Curato, created this lovely recipe booklet cover with a typographical illustration of a chef in a toque hat. As a last assignment of expressing type hierarchy this week, each student recreated a food recipe. The cover was an optional task, and Mike shared a copy of his with the entire class. His primary font used in the chef illustration and title is Bookeyed Suzanne, with Sabon as the secondary font. Sweet!|
Mike is also an accomplished illustrator and has some charming unpublished work on his website, all with great narrative. I especially love the drawing below titled Speranza. Anyone need a good children's book illustrator with typography skills too?
