Czech Bookplates

From my own bookplate collection. Wish I knew the artists, but sadly do not. I just bought them from a paper dealer several years ago.

Update: I received a message on good authority that the Vancura bookplate is designed by an artist named Dvorak (sorry, don't have a 1st name), and the third one for Pleskot was by an artist named Frantisek Vincenc Danijelka (1911- ) who was well known as an oil painter.

If you want me to I can include a link to this bookplate posting. Perhaps one of my readers will be able to idendtify your bookplates.

  2. Yes indeed! This would be wonderful. I am in love with the bookplates of many of the Eastern block artists and would love to learn more. Your blog is great and I look forward to giving it a more thorough read. Thanks for the post!
